Q Will CanSmart buy my old beer cans, soda cans or other brewery collectibles?
A Yes. We buy antique and vintage beer and soda cans from all over the world. Please visit our "Are My Cans Valuable" Page to see the types of old cans we buy. We are interested in buying single cans, small groups of cans or entire collections which contain a significant number of pre-1970 tab top or zip top cans, flat top beer cans (which required an opener to get at the contents), cone top beer cans, quart cone top beer cans and gallon cans. We buy all sizes of beer cans and soda cans from all over the world. The best way to start is to send an email to jefflebo@aol.com or a text to 717-210-1716 with a few photos of your items.
Q What types of cans does CanSmart NOT buy?
A We are NOT interested in cans or brewery collectibles produced after 1970. These would be pull tab beer cans such as Billy Beer, Harley Davidson Beer, MASH 4077, JR Ewing, Iron City Pittsburgh Steelers, World's Fair Beer, etc..If the can is made of aluminum it is too new to be of interest to us. One exception is that we are interested in test cans produced after 1970.
Q Will CanSmart come and pick up my collection of cans?
A Yes, if there are enough cans in the collection that we can use. Again, please visit our "Are My Cans Valuable?" page to see the types of cans we buy. Email me some photos of your items to jefflebo@aol.com and tell me where you live. I am based in Pennsylvania, which is centrally located on the east coast of the US. I also have many associates throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa who may be nearer to you.
Q I found some old cans while I was remodeling my house. Are they valuable?
A Very possibly. Many people are surprised to find old beer cans inside a wall while doing home renovations. Old beer cans and soda cans from the 1930's, 1940's, 1950's and 1960's can have significant value, especially if they are rare brands and the condition is very good. The best thing to do is to send a few photos to me at jefflebo@aol.com or text the photos to 717-210-1716. I will take a look and give you an honest assessment of your cans. I can help you to find buyers for your cans and to help you to get a good price for them.
Q Does CanSmart have any cans for trade or sale?
A Yes. I only save one of each label variation for my collection. If I have two of a can, the second one goes into my trade or sale stock. These cans are auctioned from time to time on the CanSmart website. Check back often for upcoming auctions.. Email me to let me know what you're looking for...I just might have it.
Q I'm interested in starting a beer can collection. Can Jeff give me some advice on beer can clubs and organizations?
A Yes. The largest beer can and breweriana club in the world is called the Brewery Collectibles Club of America (BCCA). There are local chapters of the BCCA all over the US and in some other countries as well. The BCCA website is www.bcca.com. I would highly recommend joining. It is a great group of people. In addition, please visit our Links Page for more breweriana organizations and websites.
Q Will Jeff sell my cans or other beer items on consignment?
A Yes. I will sell your vintage beer cans, soda cans, coasters, bottle caps (crowns), ball knobs, labels and tin-over-cardboard signs through the CanSmart Auction Service on consignment. Generally, I only will take consignments for items which have a value of $50 or more (per item). Email me at jefflebo@aol.com to discuss your cans or other breweriana items.
